KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo police say two suspects began fighting with officers, including biting one of them, while being arrested Wednesday night.
Police responded to an area in the 1200 block of N. Church Street to investigate reports of felonious assault. Victims said a firearm was pointed at them. During the investigation, a suspect began actively fighting with officers. Additional police were called to the scene as a second suspect also began to fight with them. Both were eventually brought under control and detained.
But while being transported, a 15-year-old teen complained about his handcuffs. While officers tried to adjust them, the teen tried to escape and became combative again, including biting an officer several times.
Altogether, three suspects from Kalamazoo were arrested on numerous felony charges and two firearms were recovered.
