VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Van Buren Cass District Health Department updated their quarantine and isolation guidance.
According to a release dated Friday, December 31, regardless of vaccination status, those that test positive for COVID-19 should:
Stay home for five days.
If there are no symptoms or symptoms improve after five days, they may leave their house.
Wear a mask around others for five more days.
If you have a fever, stay home until it goes away.
If exposed to someone with COVID-19 and have gotten a booster shot, received the J&J vaccine within the last two months, or received the second dose of Moderna or Pfizer vaccine within the last six months, they should:
Wear a mask around others for 10 days.
Take a test on day five.
Take a test and stay home if they develop symptoms.
If exposed to someone with COVID-19 and not yet vaccinated, received a second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine over six months ago and are not boosted, or received the J&J vaccine over two months ago and are not boosted, they should:
Stay at home for five days and then wear a mask around others for an additional five days.
Wear a mask for ten days if you can’t quarantine.
Take a test on day five.
Take a test and stay home if you develop symptoms.
