KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — After a 35 year career in education, KRESA Superintendent Dave Campbell will retire.
The Superintendent made his announcement public on Friday, May 6, with the KRESA Board of Education accepting his resignation back on March 17.
The Pewaukee, Wisconsin native earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he studied history and social studies. He then taught history to middle and high school students in Waukesha, Wisconsin and then at Bradley Central Junior High School in Bradley, Illinois.
In 1991, Campbell led a program for urban and rural teenagers living in poverty for Kankakee Community College while becoming the Dean of Students and Athletic Director at Bradley Central. He earned his Master’s degree in educational leadership from Illinois State University in 1992.
Along with other numerous accomplishments, Campbell stayed heavily involved with the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators (MAISA) along with other state-level committees and commissions.
Campbell’s retirement will become official on Thursday, June 30.
