Officials say prior learning agreements like the one signed Friday offer those who receive hands-on training in recognized apprenticeship programs a path to continue their learning in a partnering community college. They say the partnership between the MRCC and Kalamazoo Valley will open new doors to opportunities to hundreds of local apprentices to advance their careers in the construction industry.
The announcement took place during National Apprenticeship Week, an initiative of the US Department of Labor to highlight the roll of apprenticeship in creating career opportunities.
