BLOOMINGDALE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) -One school district on Van Buren County and one in Allegan County were among 13 statewide Thursday that were awarded Michigan Department of Education grants to support implementation of technology.
The Bloomingdale Public School District in Van Buren County received $7,000 for open education resources.
The Wayland Union Schools received $26,500 for both open education resources and as a computer science emerging district.
26 school districts across the state applied for funding, but only 13 were chosen.
The federally funded Effective Use of Technology grants were created in 2022 to support districts in their implementation efforts involving computer science and open education resources.
