BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek firefighters are reporting no injuries following an accidental house fire on Friday, February 24.
Crews responded to 590 North Washington Avenue around 12:45 that afternoon and found heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the home.
One crew quickly gained control by attacking the fire from the interior, while two other crews searched for possible victims and performed overhaul and salvage.
Authorities determined the fire started after a log fell onto the floor from the fireplace which was being used at the time.
