KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Media outlets in southwest Michigan are reporting that St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite was arrested in Kalamazoo County over the weekend.
WOOD-TV reports that according to jail records, the 47-year-old Lillywhite was booked into the Kalamazoo County Jail Sunday morning after being arrested for two traffic misdemeanors.
WWMT-TV reports the Michigan State Police arrested him after he was involved in a crash.
No formal charges have been filed by prosecutors in Kalamazoo County as of Monday morning.
Lillywhite has been the St. Joseph County Sheriff since 2021.
He has been with the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office for 25 years and was the Undersheriff from 2009 through 2020.
