VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The funeral for the Van Buren County Road Commission employee who died on the job has been scheduled.
The funeral and memorial celebration of life for 58-year-old Rene Rangel will take place at 12 p.m. on Monday, March 13.
According to a Facebook post by the Van Buren County Road Commission, the funeral and memorial celebration will not be open to the public or media.
Rangel was killed on Friday, March 3 when he was directing traffic on County Road 681 at 48th Avenue, when a 30-year-old Hartford man ignored Rangel’s traffic signs, hit another driver, then hit and killed Rangel, according to Michigan State Police.
The Van Buren County Road Commission held a memorial vigil to honor Rangel on Monday, March 6.
