KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo School Trustees are set to interview finalists this evening, Thursday, August 3, and pick one of them to be their next Trustee to fill a vacancy on the board.
KPS Trustee Megan Maddock’s surprise resignation last week, the second in the last two months, leaves 3-1/2 years on her term.
Trustees wasted no time asking for applicants. 14 people responded and last night, they picked the 4 they wanted to interview. Their names were not immediately released, because wanted to make sure they could attend the interviews first.
Last night, Board President Tianna Harrison thanked everyone who came forward when they needed them.
And board trustees will be quick to admit that actually being a trustee is not always an easy job.
The interviews are set to begin at 6:30 tonight.
Harrison says they intend to pick a winner this evening, and have them sworn in at their next board meeting a week from today, Thursday, August 10.
