CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Motorists heading in the direction of I-94 and I-69 in Calhoun County will continue to feel the effects of the major MDOT project to rebuild 25 miles of I-69 between Marshall and Charlotte.
Beginning on Friday, August 11, the northbound I-69 ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed as MDOT begins the process of rebuilding what they call the northbound I-69 collector-distributor ramp to I-94.
MDOT officials say this work which begins on Friday, is a part of the three-year, $210 million dollar project to rebuild I-69 between Island Highway in Charlotte in Eaton County, and I-94 in Marshall in Calhoun County.
Officials say the improvements will provide increased safety and mobility in that area of I-69, which they stress is a significant local and national trade corridor.
They go onto say based on economic modeling, the investment itself is expected to directly and indirectly support more than 2,500 jobs.
