KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The city of Kalamazoo marked the 70th anniversary of the opening of its Water Reclamation Plant with a party there yesterday.
The plant treats wastewater before it is put in the Kalamazoo River.
Among the upgrades made in a $26-million investment that was completed in May is a new filter system.
Public works director James Baker says the filters are similar to Brita filters, but much larger, and replace a 40-year-old system.
