LANSING MI (WKZO AM/FM) – OK, so there are 221 days until Christmas.
Still, the state of Michigan is looking ahead to the holiday.
The state Department of Technology, Management, and Budget, is asking residents to help in the search for the 2021 state Christmas tree, which as always will be displayed at the Capitol building in Lansing.
The tree needs to be a spruce or fir, at least 60 feet tall with a maximum crown of 24 feet and maximum trunk diameter of 30 inches, be easily accessed with no issues with wires, and available at no cost.
Nominations will be accepted through August 15th, and those who wish to nominate a tree should send their information and a photo and stats on the tree to ChristmasTree@michigan.gov.
