KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Another incumbent Kalamazoo City Commissioner says it’s time for some new faces on the board.
During a virtual city meeting Tuesday night, Commissioner Jack Urban announced that he won’t be seeking reelection when his term ends in November.
“I can’t run for city commissioner again on the platform I ran on four years ago,” Commissioner Urban told the board. “The country and the city are in a different place now.”
He joins commissioners Erin Knott and Eric Cunningham, who had already bowed out of the race.
Urban, who has also served on the County board, has spent the last eight years on the City Commission.
He says he plans to continue working against racism as a private citizen.
