NORTH WEBSTER, IN (WNWN/WTVB) – Spring officially arrives at 5:24 p.m. EDT on Monday but Old Man Winter will be leaving his calling card behind as he hopefully starts heading for the door.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for southwestern Michigan which is in effect through 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
Forecasters say an arctic front will bring unseasonably cold conditions on Saturday along with an increased potential of lake effect snow showers.
Lake effect snow accumulations of one to four inches are expected and gusty west to northwest winds to 30 to 35 mph will create some patchy blowing snow along with areas of reduced visibility.
Roads may become snow covered and slick in association with the heavier lake effect snow showers.
Winds chills are also expected to drop into the single digits before temperatures start to moderate on Sunday.
