BATTLE CREEK MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Numerous shooting incidents in the city of Battle Creek over the last two days have claimed one victim.
A spokesperson for the city’s police department stated that police were summoned to the Maple Terrace area at around 1:30 am Thursday, and discovered a 27 year old Battle Creek man with a gunshot wound.
Medical care was provided, and the victim was taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Authorities are looking into the incident as a part of several shootings that have taken place in Battle Creek over the last 48 hours.
Police believe that the incidents are connected to an ongoing situation between two groups of individuals. The fatality that occurred Thursday is the only injury reported thus far.
It is believed that the public is not in danger at this time, and authorities report that measures are being taken to halt the strings of events.
