KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A new completion date for the I 94 reconstruction project between Lovers Lane and Sprinkle Road has been announced, and MDOT officials say it’s a precedent setting situation.
According to WWMT News 3, the project, which will expand the highway from four to six lanes, is now set to be completed on September 15th, with supply chain issues and COVID being blamed for the delay.
But MDOT has also said that the construction company could be at fault as well, and that the delay will cost not only time but money as well.
MDOT officials are looking into all possible resolutions, including legal, to possibly speed up the process.
