KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – As traffic circles, or roundabouts may make most drivers annoyed or squeamish, the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County is inviting the public to come out and take a spin a new one they just about have completed.
Although new roundabouts are being placed at Parkview Avenue at 11th and 12th Street, commission officials want to give drivers a chance to give the one at 11th and Parkview a whirl this Thursday, August 10 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Those wishing to take part should park at the National Guard Armory at 5353 Parkview Avenue and enter from the east side at the 12th Street and Parkview Avenue roundabout where traffic regulators will usher participants to the parking lot. From there, attendees will be able to walk or ride to the roundabout itself, which is expected to fully open on Friday, August 11.
Construction on the nearly $2 million project got started this year on March 20.
