North Korea not bound to any treaty on non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, KCNA reports

SEOUL, May 7 (Reuters) – North Korea is not bound ​to any treaty ‌on non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, state media KCNA reported on ‌Thursday.

Kim ​Song, permanent ⁠representative of ⁠North Korea to the United Nations, said in a statement ​the U.S. and some countries ⁠are “tarnishing the ⁠atmosphere” at the ​11th NPT review ​conference held at UN ‌headquarters, bringing up the issue of North Korea’s nuclear ⁠weapons, KCNA said.

The position of North Korea as ⁠a ‌nuclear weapons ⁠state “does not change ​in ‌accordance with rhetorical ​assertion ⁠or unilateral desire of outsiders,” Kim said.
