KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo Deputy City Manager Rebekah Kik is leaving her position effective July 3rd.
She submitted a letter of resignation to the city Tuesday and will start teaching at the University of Notre Dame’s graduate school of architecture this fall.
Kik will be Notre Dame’s co-director of the Housing and Community Regeneration Initiative and earned her second master’s degree from the school in Architectural Design and Urbanism.
Students from that department at Notre Dame did the design work that led to the current restructuring of streets in downtown Kalamazoo as part of the city’s master plan implementation.
City officials say her replacement has not been determined.
Kik started with the city of Kalamazoo in 2014 in the planning department.
