KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazo Department of Public Safety says a 30-year-old woman killed early Saturday morning was the victim of a drive-by shooting.
They say Angel Marie Curtis was shot around 2:15 a.m. while sitting in a vehicle parked along the 700 block of Florence Street. KDPS says the motive remains unknown and it is unclear whether Curtis was the intended target or whether she was known to the suspects.
Witness statements and license plate reader information helped investigators quickly identify the suspect vehicle. Officers followed leads and located the vehicle later that same day abandoned in the 1300 block of North Westnedge Avenue. Detectives continue to investigate who was inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
KDPS is asking anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about the people involved is encouraged to come forward. Silent Observer will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of those responsible.
