BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Battle Creek woman was arrested early Thursday following an investigation into reports of gunfire on the city’s north side.
The Battle Creek Police Department says around 1:45 a.m. officers responded to the area of Northside Drive and Washington Street after receiving multiple reports of shots fired. Officers in the area also heard what appeared to be gunfire.
Officers searched the area but did not immediately locate the source.
At approximately 2:05 a.m., additional 911 calls reported more gunfire and provided information about a possible location in the 100 block of Hazel Street. The BCPD says it deployed a drone to help locate individuals outside a residence. Officers then made contact with three individuals at the location.
Following an investigation, a 49-year-old Battle Creek woman was arrested on weapons-related offenses.
Police found no apparent property damage, and no injuries or victims have been reported.
