KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 44-year-old man will serve between 36-and-55-years in prison for a 2023 murder at a Kalamazoo apartment complex.
John Powell Jr. was convicted of second-degree murder in September of the death of 42-year-old Tyquincy McFerrin at Fox Ridge Apartments and was sentenced Monday.
Powell shot and killed McFerrin after the two were in an argument.
He was arrested several months later in Lake County, Illinois.
