HEATH TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A juvenile male lost his life in an apparent drowning incident at a park near Hamilton Saturday night.
No names or ages of the two boys involved were disclosed by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office following the incident, which occurred around 6:30 p.m. at Trestle Park in Heath Township.
The Sheriff’s Office says a bystander who heard the youths struggling in the Rabbit River dived in to pull one of them out, but the other went under and didn’t resurface.
First responders were able to recover that body just after 10:00 p.m.
The incident, which brought crews from 12 departments to the scene, remains under investigation.
