KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo jury has found 28-year-old Jayvon Bulock guilty of open murder in the death last fall of his 26-year-old girlfriend.
Naomi Nakken was shot five times in an apartment at Mount Royal Townhomes in Oshtemo Township last October.
Kalamazoo County Assistant Prosecutor Jeremy Von Eitzen said during yesterday’s closing arguments that Nakken’s murder was premeditated, noting five shots aren’t fired at someone unless you want to kill them.
Bulock testified Wednesday that he shot her in self-defense.
He’ll be sentenced October 5th.
