KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Western Michigan University head football coach Lance Taylor and president Russ Kavalhuna both say the clock used by Big Ten officials Saturday in their 13-12 loss to Michigan was accurate.
Referees ruled there were four-tenths of a second left on the clock when the Bronco defense deflected a pass in the end zone, giving the Wolverines a final play on which they scored the winning touchdown.
Kavalhuna said what people at home saw on NBC was “just a discrepancy” and both say the Broncos should hold their heads high for what they accomplished in Ann Arbor.
Western Michigan has never beaten a school in the top 20 in the coaches poll, and 16th-ranked Michigan would have been their first.
