WMU, professor’s union agree to new contract

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Western Michigan University and the WMU American Association of University Professors have approved a new contract.

The deal will raise pay for professors this year by 2% with a retroactive 1% research supplement for the current academic year.

Professors will be paid 2% more next year, and 2.5% more in the contract’s final year.

Contract talks started May 19th and the board of trustees approved the deal yesterday.
