KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Western Michigan University Broncos hockey team will open their final season at Lawson Arena on campus tomorrow night.
WMU will host the Ferris State University Bulldogs at 7 p.m. in a rematch of last season’s home opener, won by FSU 3-to-2.
Lawson Arena has been their home since 1974 when the program started, and they are moving next year along with the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings and the Bronco men’s and women’s basketball teams to the Kalamazoo Event Center downtown.
The new arena remains under construction.
